Manilow Music Project to Benefit Clark County School District Students 8/18
Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow's non-profit organization, the Manilow Music Project, will put musical instruments into the
hands of Clark County School District middle and high school students beginning with a major donation this Fall. Beginning August 18,
fans who bring a new or gently used musical instrument to the Paris Théâtre box office will receive a voucher for the performance date
of their choice. The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope and was formed in response to the needs of public schools and their severely depleted music programs, and works towards highlighting these programs. Additionally, MMP aids these programs
in the form of donations of instruments and materials to further music education around the country.

Congratulations for once again being voted best of the best. As the article in Aprils magazine states "They might as well retire this award and just give it to Barry in perpetuity..." Yep you've got that
right!
Of course his win was no surprise to me! Beyond his legendary entertainment abilities, his humanitarian work in the desert and beyond makes him the obvious choice for this award. Giving back and paying it forward is
second nature to Barry, proven by his ‘Gift of Love’ concerts at the McCallum in December benefiting 25 charities; through his ongoing efforts for music programs in the schools by way of the Manilow Music Fund and
through his work with ‘The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope’ which offers assistance to dozens of organizations. And these are just of a few of the many things he’s involved with.
While Bruce Fessier was in Las Vegas interviewing Barry and covering his new show at the Paris, he had the opportunity to present him with the official plaque commemorating the award.
There is no doubt Barry Manilow will always be ‘best of’ to me!

Barry Manilow triumphs after $150,000 fire stops Paris premiere
Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow turned a near tragedy into triumph during his premiere weekend on the Strip after a power surge caused $150,000 in damages to the computer program systems in the
sound and lighting control boards. It wrecked plans for the Friday night premiere just hours later.
“You could smell the burnout,” one of the stage engineers told me. “One or two of the protectors failed or didn’t turn on, and the lot just went up. It brought the final rehearsals Friday afternoon to a
complete halt.” It also forced Barry, the casino resort and the producers to cancel the premiere.
Coincidentally, Barry had a premonition a week earlier when he performed at the Keep Memory Alive: Power of Love gala benefit for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. “I don’t know if we
will make it,” he told me. “There’s just a tremendous amount of brand new technology never been used before.” The producers had spent more than $300,000 on new lighting and sound for the theater.

and magic at Paris Las Vegas with a new resident show. On Saturday, Manilow threw open
the doors to the Paris Théâtre at Paris Las Vegas with a reimagined stage show that is both
more intimate and more exciting than ever before.
Manilow will perform 78 shows each year for two years at Paris Las Vegas. The shows
are produced by AEG Live in conjunction with Paris Las Vegas. Tickets for performances

A Note from Barry.
Hi Everyone!
Well, we’re in the thick of it!
Rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals. Twelve hour days of playing new arrangements, new songs, new choreography, new costumes, new scenery, new lights and most of all a new showroom.
We’re all very, very excited about this new show. As I’ve said before, this show will be themost beautiful one I’ve ever done.
Jeffery Hornaday and his team have helped me to create a new and exciting production andwe can’t wait to put it on its feet.
Of course all the hits will be in the show, but I’ve decided to pull out some of the songs we hardly ever do. How about “No Other Love”? Or “I Wanna Be Somebody’s Baby”?
We’ve been rehearsing a handful of songs from my gorgeous “Love Songs” CD and we’ve blown up some of the songs we’ve been doing for years and they sound fresh and very contemporary.
Muffy Hendricks has joined our team! It’s so wonderful to have her back with us. Muffy and I just look at each other and burst into tears! She sounds better than ever and looks amazing.
We’ve had one full run-through so far and it was great. Next week we get to work on the stage of the Paris so wish us luck.

The Ophelia Project is one of the beneficiaries of your generosity. The teen girls of the Ophelia Project were so excited and so proud to think that such
a big star knew who they were! What a compassionate gesture to share his tremendous talent in such an extraordinary way. His unexpected gift of support has made a very significant difference in these challenging times,
not only monetarily but psychologically as well.
Several of our board members were able to attend the concert and raved about his fabulous talent and tremendous passion for helping our community. The
“Gift of Love” funds will greatly enhance our Ophelia Project programs which include: Teen obesity prevention; art awareness; the importance of continuing education and Ophelia Scholarships.
We very much appreciate what he has done, not only for the Ophelia Project, but for the whole desert. His community spirit has been inspiring and

A note from Barry
Hi Everyone!
The “Greatest Love Songs of All Time” CD is done. It drops on January 26th and I
unabashedly can say that this CD is the most beautiful album I’ve ever made. Everyone
involved in creating this one was committed to making the most romantic album possible.
It’s a real beauty.
Most of you know that I’ve always loved this style of music. Given the opportunity to
make an album of songs like these was an honor and a rich creative experience for me. I
hope the songwriters would have been proud of how we treated their masterpieces.
The final cut of the CD is very special. It’s a song called “When You Were Sweet Sixteen”.
In my research I found that this song was the very first pop love song ever written. It was
written in 1898 and many versions of it have been done. When you hear it, I think you’ll
understand why it still holds up over a hundred years later.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this very special album.
